Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (or bison)
- 12 oz pack of bacon, coarsely chopped (optional)
- 1 large red onion, finely chopped
- 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 28 oz can Muir Glen fire roasted tomatoes (crushed or diced)
- 3 medium or large jalapeƱo peppers
- 2 heaped teaspoons chili powder
- 1 level teaspoon of cumin
- 1 heaped tablespoon of Mexican oregano if available
- 12 oz water (or beer)
Instructions
- Add tomatoes, spices, herbs, jalapeƱos, and water to large pan. Cook on medium heat.
- Cook onion in skillet. Add to pan.
- Cook garlic and bacon together in skillet. Add to pan.
- Brown meat in skillet. Add to pan.
- Simmer for 2-4 hours (the longer the better)
